Watsapp Calls Might Be Allowed In The UAE, very soon!

Recently in an interview held on Tuesday on CNBC, with Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, the executive director of UAE’s National Electronic Security Authority (Nesa), there was a statement issued that Whatsapp Calls might return to the UAE very soon. His official statement stated that “(We are) collaborating here in the UAE and in many of those (aspect) we saw a very good understanding of the concept. There might be a lift of that ban for (WhatsApp) voice calls or broadcasting of many of the things that they do”.

The popular WhatsApp Call feature was blocked in the UAE, ever since its inception in 2015; In addition to skype and other VoIP services. Currently, the only paid services in the UAE, include Yzer, Botim, C’Me, and HiU, which have officially been allowed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in the UAE and are officially provided by Du and Etisalat.
